- South Island Line Project 901 : the main works for this project are in close proximity to major structure and a very comprehensive monitoring scheme has been put in place to ensure a complete monitoring solution, ie geotechnical monitoring. The key point of the monitoring scheme is an Automatic Deformation Monitoring System to be installed within MTR tunnel which includes a large network of Total Stations (8) monitoring up to 700 points within the different tunnels.

- 4 Hillsides project - landslide monitoring: Four hillsides were selected on the basis of various geological/hydrogeological conditions and landslide mechanisms anticipated, none of which presented an immediate hazard to the general public. The different nature of the four sites meant that a variety of instruments types and landslide monitoring scenarios could be tested using Automated Deformation Monitoring System with little risk to public safety and with a view to applying the findings to other slopes where potentially more hazardous conditions may exist.
